Amish Craftsmen Guild II (ACGII) in Cedarburg, WI has changed the way that the world looks at outdoor furniture. ACGII specializes in helping customers express who they are by creating signature looks in well-thought-out outdoor dream spaces.
Amish Craftsmen Guild began humbly over seventeen years ago. The founders, Laura Armstrong-Goss and her brother, Del Armstrong, were both working different jobs. Laura was a Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Practitioner, as well as a wife and mother of two daughters. Del was a traveling medical educator, looking for a career change that would allow him to spend more time with his family.
In rural Pennsylvania, where Del, Laura, and Laura’s husband Buddy grew up, Del rediscovered wonderfully skilled, local Amish crafters. These crafters simply sold their furniture off their porches and in their shops. Del approached the crafters to see if they would be open to having him sell their furniture in his new hometown (and furniture capital of the world), High Point, North Carolina.
Laura and Del soon joined forces, with Laura working independently in Wisconsin. With her brother’s help, Laura was able to build a great business relationship with several Old Order Amish in the community. Together, Del and Laura worked as Amish Craftsmen Guild and Amish Craftsmen Guild II.
The original furniture designs were traditional Amish designs, which evolved into unique rustic designs created entirely by the Amish Crafters using oak, cherry, hickory, and black walnut wood. Eventually, both Laura and Del started to influence the designs and create changes in the furniture while collaborating with the crafters to bring Laura’s designs to life while maintaining top-notch quality.
The business grew — customers embraced the unique designs and high-quality, durable pieces. In the early days, Laura sold the furniture at local craft fairs from the back of her Volkswagen and Ford Econoline camper vans. Today, Amish Craftsmen Guild II is a family business located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, owned by Laura Armstrong-Goss and her husband Bud Goss.
The furniture is now constructed from sustainable, environmentally-friendly PolyLumber. ACGII is proud to offer traditional and unique designs alike for outdoor furniture and living spaces. All of the furniture is made right here in the United States by the hands and hearts of Old Order Amish Craftspeople.
